Libratone is one of the most popular audio brands from Denmark — and for good reason.

Following in the footsteps of other Scandinavian icons, like Bang and Olufsen, Libratone introduces aesthetically appealing and high-tech pieces of audio equipment to delight a range of customers.

Libratone specializes in everything from wireless headphones to state-of-the-art portable speakers.

Today, we’re looking at one of the most travel-friendly products in their portfolio, the Libratone One Click.

The One Click speaker is an outdoor-friendly product with a stylish and charming design.

Despite an impressively affordable price tag for a high-quality speaker, the Libratone One Click delivers excellent audio quality and functionality for all.

Let’s take a closer look.

Libratone One Click review: Design

It’s probably not a big surprise that Libratone’s One-Click speaker is a delight to look at. This beautiful portable product combines minimalism and practicality, just like the rest of the Libratone portfolio.

The book-shaped chassis is a slight departure from the cylindrical features that most people are used to with Libratone — but it’s still nice to look at.

The frame means that you can add and remove loops and hooks that make it easier to transport your Libratone speakers wherever you go. There’s also a range of color options to choose from, including an appealing Scandi grey and green.

Though there’s nothing that specifically stands out about the Libratone One Click, that’s part of that makes it so appealing. This product has an underrated charm that will quickly make it one of your favorite possessions.

The speakers feel sturdy enough to survive the occasional knock and bump. However, there are rubber bumpers around the edges to protect against scrapes.

For extra peace of mind, you also have the IPX4 rating which means that the Libratone One Click isn’t entirely waterproof, but it can withstand splashes quite well.

Libratone One Click review: Features

Beyond the soft mesh-like material that you may be familiar with from the Zipp and Zipp mini, you’ll find a 30mm tweeter, an 8cm woofer, and two passive drivers.

There’s not much decoration on this speaker – just the logo-embossed touch panel that you can control with a swipe of your fingers.

Fortunately, the touch controls are pretty intuitive and easy to use.

The One Click is a portable device that’s great for life on the move. You’ll get about 12 hours of playback altogether, depending on your volume choices. There’s also a micro USB charging port that sits alongside a 3.5mm input.

Although the One Click isn’t the most advanced multi-room speaker in the mix today, it does have Bluetooth +1 technology, so you can link two devices together.

There’s also the option to pair a Zipp speaker to your One Click for stereo sound.

For a price of around $170, features include:

  • Balanced Libratone sound signature
  • Online streaming with internet radio
  • IPX4 rating for splash resistance
  • Durable design with bumpers
  • TWs mode for playing through various speakers
  • Touch control panel
  • Speaker phone with noise cancelling microphones
  • Excellent Bluetooth 4.1 connection
  • 12 hours of battery life

Libratone One Click review: Performance

Usually, when you buy a portable speaker, you compromise on something like volume or sound performance to get a smaller size. However, that’s rarely the case with Libratone speakers.

The One click might not be cylindrical, but it still features the company’s iconic 360-degree sound.

An excellent open sound field means that you get incredible quality from your music in any environment—you even get a good performance when the device is laid down—though it’s better standing upright.

Although the Click is great for plucking textures out of sound, it’s missing some punctuality that would give it an extra kick.

There’s a little hollowness in the upper bass frequencies here that means the speaker struggles to receive top marks throughout. However, it’s still a very good sound quality for its size and price.

It’s a bit of a shame that there’s no app access so you can go in and adjust the EQ levels on your own.

In terms of Bluetooth connectivity, the Libratone One Click also delivers pretty well. The Bluetooth is 4.1, so not the latest on the market, but still good enough to provide a stable connection for up to 33 ft.

There’s also the option to connect one speaker to 2 different Bluetooth devices.

Libratone One Click review: Verdict
Conclusion
The Libratone One Click has its limitations as a leading audio product. There’s no EQ control option for adjusting your sound scape, and the high levels are a little lacking. You also miss out on some next-level Bluetooth controls.

However, that’s really all there is to complain about.

If you’re looking for a durable portable speaker that delivers beauty and sound quality in one — then the Libratone One Click is a good choice. You even get the added benefit of splash-proofing, for protection when you’re in the great outdoors.
